GHCL Ltd. is a fully integrated textile company, with operations from spinning and weaving to front-end retail on a global scale. The ability to add capacity, with a focus on superior cotton mixing and finer counts, results in a wide product range, backed by technical superiority, which is GHCL’s signature.
Formerly Sree Meenakshi Mills Ltd, a production capacity of 24,000 ring spindles, and founded in Madurai, Tamilnadu in 1935, with manufacturing facilities in three locations in Madurai, Paravai and Manaparai, the company has emerged in its new avatar as GHCL. The merger of this mill with GHCL happened under the guidance of the promoters and founder of GHCL Shri. Sanjay Dalmia and Shri.Anurag Dalmia in 2002. This aided the group to diversify and expand their business areas.
The yarn division of GHCL has two spinning units located in Paravai and Manaparai with a total installed capacity of 185,000 ring spindles, 3,320 rotors, 480 VORTEX positions and 5,760 TFO spindles, manufacturing 100% cotton and synthetic blended yarns in count ranges from Ne 24s to Ne 170s. State-of-the-art textile machinery is the major constituent of the manufacturing infrastructure and includes Rieter from Switzerland, Schlafhorst from Germany, Savio from Italy, Murata from Japan, Truetzschler from Germany and LMW from India.
The mills at Paravai and Manaparai empower GHCL with the perfect blend of optimum quality at the right cost. This applies to all varieties of yarn. The count and ply of the yarn caters to all premium segments, both in the domestic and international markets, and have found increasing acceptance with clothiers and made-ups manufacturers.
